o, wassup LazyEnglish world! It's your boy Philochko here and today we're going to learn some more lazy ways to speak English!
Real lazy. And first lazy thing I will teach you today is "Ima". I-M-A. And "Ima" is a way of saying "I'm going to" or "I will". For example: "I will vote for the president next year". If you want to say that in a lazy way, you can say: "Ima vote for the president this year". Another example: "I'm going to stay home today". If you want to say that in a lazy way, you say: "Ima stay home today". Ima stay home today. (And) with "Ima", when you say "I'm going to", it doesn't apply (with)(? ) travel. So I wouldn't be able to say: "Ima to Russia" as in "I'm going to Russia". No, it does not work, it does not apply to travel. But, with things like "I'm going to be happy tomorrow" — sure, you can say "Ima be happy tomorrow" and that works perfectly.
And please note, that "Ima" should not be with "I'm a", which is a way of saying "I am a". Like, I can say: "I'm a(n) American" (lol! ). But I cannot say: "Ima American". Doesn't make sense. So, the lazy "Ima" is totally different from "I'm a". Now, I'm going to teach you some more lazy words that combine multiple words into one. And the next two I'm gonna teach you — play on losing the "t" sound. Because Americans, when speaking English... we don't have to make the "t" sound. We don't have to and we won't. We really try our best to avoid making it, because it's annoying to us. So, for example, if you want to say: "I want to say something", instead of saying "want to" you can say "wanna". Wanna! Yes, wanna. Wanna — I know it might sound funny but it's a perfectly common way to say "I want to".
For example: "I want to go to the store later". Instead of saying "I want to go to the store later", I would just say "I wanna go to the store later". Much easier on the tongue. And another lazy word, that fits this mold is "gonna". And "gonna" is short for "going to". For example, if I want to say: "I'm going to call my friend on the phone". But in a lazy way, I just say: "I'm gonna call my friend on the phone". Yo, Steve, what up? So yes, "wanna" and "gonna". You can verbally use these words in school and if your teacher is American, I'm sure he will understand you but you never want to write it down on any important paper, because it will be completely incorrect. Verbally — yes, writing — no. And another lazy word for today is how we say "probably". Now, saying "probably" is a little annoying. Just feel how much your lips have to do.
Prahbableh. Prahbably. Well, I have the solution for you. Let's get lazy with it. Instead of saying "probably", in New York, we all say "Proly". Proly. She proly will, she proly won't. I proly have to make another video later. You proly won't even like this video. But, you proly will. But I hope you do. And last lazy tip for today is pronouncing the "-ing" sound. -ing. Sounds Chinese. In America, we do not say "-ing". We skip it, we make it much simplier and we just say "-in'". I and apostrophe. For example: "I'm feeling in a good mood today. " The lazy way is: "I'm feelin' in a good mood". I'm feeling good. I'm lookin' good. I'm dancin' here. I'm wavin' my hand. "Waiving" is probably how they will say it in Great Britain. And that's the end of the episode for today, I hope you liked it, I hope you've enjoyed it and I hope you've learned new stuff, be sure to join my masquerade. How? By adding me at vk. com/philochko, that's me and subscribing to my YouTube page to see all of my videos, I have many videos and I'm happy to be a part of the LazyEnglish world, so, see you next time!
